New Haven has a significantly higher overdose death rate than the Connecticut state average. As of May 2023, New Haven had an overdose death rate of 81.5 per million residents, whereas the state average is 27.9 per million residents. While 87 percent of these deaths involved opioids, and 48 percent involved cocaine (indicating polysubstance use, which is common in those who use substances and can increase the risk of overdose death), all types of addiction are a problem in the area.
East Coast Recovery treats all types of substance abuse. Getting help for drug and alcohol use can help you avoid new or worsened consequences of addiction, which are not limited to overdose. Other possible consequences include job loss, legal issues, accidents and injury, problems in interpersonal relationships, and negatively impacted physical or mental health. Â
Our programs are evidence-based and engaging. Each level of care at East Coast Recovery has a different time commitment, but most clients coming from New Haven will start with our partial hospitalization program. Our staff members can help you or your loved one arrange for time off of work to come to our treatment center if needed.
East Coast Recovery uses a broad range of therapeutic modalities, and clients in all our programs work with staff to develop a customized treatment plan. If a treatment or approach doesn’t benefit you, it can be replaced with something else.
PHP provides the most intensive care possible in an outpatient environment. Our PHP clients engage in a full daily schedule of therapy and other treatment activities on weekdays. Each day of the week will look different, consisting of individual therapy, group therapy, gender-specific yoga groups, medication management, breathwork, art sessions, and other activities included in your personal treatment plan. Family therapy sessions are held bi-weekly. As a PHP client, you’ll be in treatment for about 40 hours per week.
IOP is one step down from PHP and is also called a half-day treatment. As an IOP client at East Coast Recovery, you’ll attend regular groups and individual therapy sessions like a PHP client but for fewer total hours per week. Since the time commitment is lower, you’ll have more time for obligations unrelated to treatment, like work or college classes.Â
Evening IOP has a similar time commitment to our typical IOP program. Rather than attend treatment during the day, however, all of your sessions will occur in the evening (three days per week, from 6-9 PM). Â
When treatment is over, continued care and connection matters. Our aftercare program provides individual therapy, support group meetings, relapse prevention strategies, and help finding local resources that support your recovery.Â
At East Coast Recovery, we work with adults aged 18+ coming from in and out of state. In addition to offering flexible outpatient care and treating all types of substance addiction, here are some of the advantages of choosing our treatment center.
Since our drug rehab servicing the New Haven area is out of state, you or your loved one will likely want to stay in sober housing while in treatment. That way, you won’t have to drive from New Haven to Cohasset daily for PHP or throughout the week for IOP.
Shortening the distance to and from treatment is not the only benefit of sober living. It also provides a sense of community, keeps you accountable, and helps you solidify new, sustainable, healthy routines with support.Â
We are dedicated to making treatment accessible for every client. East Coast Recovery accepts most forms of health insurance to help you cover the cost of our services, which you can verify online or by calling our admissions line.Â
Additionally, we offer scholarships for both our partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. Scholarships are available frequently and repeatedly.Â
Many people facing addiction will meet the criteria for one or more co-occurring conditions, like a mood disorder, anxiety, or a trauma disorder. When someone experiencing addiction has a co-occurring disorder, it’s important to treat both comprehensively. This is called dual-diagnosis treatment.
If you or your loved one looking for drug rehab in New Haven has a co-occurring mental health condition, East Coast Recovery is an ideal choice. Our facility offers dual-diagnosis treatment for clients with co-occurring conditions.
We also have a trauma therapy program for trauma survivors. Trauma is a common risk factor for substance use disorders and other mental health conditions, so getting trauma-informed care is essential.Â
While we aren’t in New Haven, we are under three hours away in Cohasset, MA. To get to Cohasset, MA, from New Haven, CT, take I-95 N. Please contact East Coast Recovery for help with directions to and from our facility.
