Partial Hospitalization Program 

The partial hospitalization program (PHP) at East Coast Recovery is a popular starting level of care for people coming from Lowell and surrounding areas. In PHP, you’ll participate in a full treatment schedule daily throughout the week. The schedule you follow in PHP will depend on your personalized treatment plan, but all clients attend regular groups and individual therapy sessions. PHP at East Coast Recovery can be an ideal alternative to inpatient rehab. It is highly intensive, leaving little room for work or school. The case managers at East Coast Recovery are versed in helping clients get short-term disability and FMLA.  

Intensive Outpatient Program

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at East Coast Recovery provides treatment a few days per week rather than daily. On treatment days, our IOP clients participate in group therapy and other activities (e.g., individual therapy) for a few hours each and are then free for the rest of the day. Many IOP clients use the program to transition out of a higher level of care, like PHP. However, IOP can also be a starting level of care if it is a better fit for the client and their schedule. 

Evening IOP

Evening IOP at East Coast Recovery uses a combination of group and individual therapy like our standard intensive outpatient program. The main difference between traditional IOP and evening IOP is that sessions are held in the evening, which can be important for clients who have to balance work or school with treatment. 

Aftercare Treatment Program

Before treatment at East Coast Recovery is over, you’ll work with staff to make a custom aftercare plan. Your aftercare plan may include continued therapy, medication for mental health and addiction, support groups, job and education planning, relapse prevention skills, and anything else that will support your ongoing recovery after rehab.

Former clients get immediate access to our alumni program after rehab. The alumni program at East Coast Recovery provides regular events, outings, psychoeducation classes, check-in calls, and other services that will help you stay motivated and connected following treatment. 

Sober Living in Massachusetts 

We offer sober living for clients who feel it’d benefit their recovery. If you are coming from Lowell, you may opt into sober housing partially so that you will not have to commute to Cohasset for treatment daily or throughout the week. Other advantages of sober living include but aren’t limited to an added sense of community, accountability, and support during the recovery process. Our sober living house is welcoming, with comfortable and spacious rooms, a large and bright kitchen, common areas, and amenities.
