A 2019 report from the Milton Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition indicated that the community struggled severely with addiction particularly among youth.
Throughout Milton, nearly half of adults surveyed indicated that an immediate family member has struggled with substance abuse, underlying causes of which have been associated with high rates of depression and anxiety.
To try and counter high rates of alcohol and marijuana abuse among teens and adults, the Milton Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition was formed, partnering with the police department to provide post overdose home visits. However, those who have struggled with an overdose or who are currently struggling with addiction still need to find a treatment program that helps tackle underlying causes of addiction.
For Milton residents, community efforts and outreach have helped get referrals for mental health services and perform home visits, with nearly 500 pounds of unused medication collected in 2019 for a drug take-back program.
If you are looking for Milton rehab programs, our team can help.
Our most intense level of treatment is our day program. Our day program is an alternative to residential inpatient programs in that it provides a high level of support while still allowing you to live at home.
During our day treatment programs you will typically participate in between 4 and 8 hours of treatment each day, several days per week. These programs typically last between 3 and 4 weeks making it possible to participate in a full-time level of care over a short time frame.
These programs allow you to return to your home or a sober living residence at the end of each treatment day, spending evenings and weekends on your own.
Our day treatment programs give you access to intensive individual and group therapy sessions. In some cases you might also have access to medical care for medication that helps with lingering withdrawal symptoms for addictions like benzodiazepines or opioids.
These sessions might include family therapy, trauma-informed care, or dual diagnosis treatment for those struggling with both addiction and mental health disorders.
Our next level of care is our partial day program. Our partial day program is an ideal next step for those who have just finished a residential inpatient program or for those who may not be able to participate in a full-time level of care but still need treatment.
During our partial day programs you will typically participate in around 10 hours of treatment each week, usually done during the day for a few hours. These programs tend to last a couple of weeks making it possible to get continued help on a part-time basis.
The therapies to which you have access are the same as our day treatment programs, with an array of individual and group therapy sessions based on your assessment and needs including access to dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring disorders.
As you near the end of your day or partial day treatment program, our team will work with you to set up your aftercare plan. Planning your next steps is an important part of maintaining your sobriety. Aftercare has been shown to provide better long-term outcomes for addiction recovery, giving you the continued support you need and a chance to reinforce the skills and strategies you learned during treatment.
Just as we customize your treatment plan, we help customize your aftercare plan, giving you access to support groups in your area, individual and group therapies if you need them on an ongoing basis, and alumni events.
For some clients, finding the help they need for an addiction means finding a sober living environment. Sober living environments provide a space that empowers residents to build their individual responsibility, access peer support on a regular basis, and adhere to rules and recovery techniques that helps sustain sobriety.
This form of communal living can decrease substance abuse and relapse rates while increasing employment rates especially for those who are early in the recovery, trying to learn how to trust themselves again, communicate effectively with others, and establish coping skills.
If you are in need of a sober living environment during your outpatient program or after, call our team.
The length of time is usually an average of 30 days but this is based on your needs. A thirty day program is a great place to start, giving you the tools you need to detox safely with our medication assisted treatment (MAT), especially if you are struggling with opioid addiction. These shorter programs can help you establish your sobriety and build an aftercare plan.
Research indicates that the longer you stick with a program, the more successful you will be in your sobriety so even participation in a 60 day or 90 day program can increase the skills you learn and the techniques you can apply to maintaining your sobriety. Our 60 day programs can give you the same skills as a thirty day, but include healthy habit building to maintain sobriety, addressing family, situation, or behavior based issues that contribute to your addiction.
The longer time frames, like the 90 day programs have the highest impact, helping you identify potential triggers and build your coping mechanisms to avoid them, in addition to the skills taught in 30 and 60 day programs.
When you reach out for your initial assessment we will help you determine which length of time might be best suited to your needs especially given the severity of your addiction and any history of addiction that you might have.
