With East Coast Recovery, we offer Day Treatment (PHP), where individuals who don’t need 24-hour supervision or care can still get flexible, comprehensive treatment. During the day, support includes things like group therapy, medical supervision, and individual counseling, after which clients can transition to our Partial Day Treatment (Partial Day Treatment Program) or half-day treatment, where they can continue to apply the skills they have learned during sessions in a real-world environment.
Whether you participate in our day or partial day programs, you’ll also receive continued aftercare support that’s local to where you are. We connect you with outpatient treatment centers if you need ongoing support, therapists, local resources, and sober living homes.

Combined with these updates are proactive follow-ups that come from our alumni coordinator. The goal of these follow-ups and the alumni program is to keep clients engaged long after they leave our facility so that every client has the best chance of staying sober.
As clients transition to our partial-day programs, they learn to create a solid support system, replacing bad or unhealthy habits with healthy ones, particularly to tackle things like stress or setbacks. Each of our clients is able to seamlessly transition between their addiction treatment plan and returning to an independent lifestyle. One of the biggest benefits of this type of outpatient program is the continued support that clients need to overcome triggers and tackle cravings, all while practicing those skills in real time and then reporting back on their progress in a way that allows for continual learning and adaptation.
After leaving your treatment program, ongoing support is essential to maintaining your sobriety. That is why we encourage all of our clients to participate in the active recovery community held throughout Needham’s local churches and other centers, with open and closed meetings every day of the week from AA and options for NA meetings throughout Newton, Wellesley, or Dedham.

With East Coast Recovery, we specialize in flexible outpatient care, which brings clients many benefits.
Each of our outpatient programs comes with a great deal of flexibility, especially as compared to residential inpatient programs. However, as our full day programs are just that, there is slightly less flexibility compared to a partial day program.
Clients who, for example, work full-time might have to take medical leave to participate in this type of program, but they still get the opportunity to reside at home.
By comparison, our partial day programs make it a little bit easier for clients to continue with work, school, or childcare needs as they make progress in their recovery.
The cost can fluctuate, as the higher clinical hours associated with our full-day programs come at a higher cost. However, our team can help go over the cost of each respective option and what type of financing can be provided, particularly by way of insurance.
The typical duration for our full day programs can be upwards of 6 weeks, but clients who participate in our partial day programs might see twice that, if not more. The duration is really based on when you feel comfortable, once you make progress in terms of meeting your individual goals and are able to utilize the skills that are taught to help you regain independence.
In terms of your supervision, there is more medical oversight and clinical oversight associated with our full day programs, but a bit more emphasis on personal autonomy through our partial-day programs. This level of supervision is meant to reflect the requirements our clients face as they start to move through the multiple levels of care.
The daily schedule will likely include a similar combination of individual and group therapy sessions as well as holistic offerings, but the key difference is that our day programs include full-day sessions every day of the week, whereas our partial day programs are only half a day, a few days per week.
Our day programs can typically take 20 hours per week or more, while our partial day programs take about half that time.
