Because UMR administers self-funded plans, coverage levels can vary from employer to employer. However, under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), most UMR-administered plans are required to cover substance use disorder treatment at the same level as other medical and surgical care.

Our Day Treatment (AKA Partial Hospitalization Program or PHP) is an intensive level of outpatient care for individuals who need significant clinical structure without requiring overnight hospitalization. PHP runs five days per week and includes individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric services, and medication management. It is an appropriate step down from inpatient or residential care, or a strong starting point for those whose addiction and any co-occurring mental health conditions require a more intensive approach.
Our Partial Day Treatment (AKA Intensive Outpatient Program or Partial Day Treatment Program) provides structured, evidence-based addiction treatment with the flexibility to maintain work, school, or family responsibilities. Clients attend multiple sessions per week and receive individual counseling, group therapy, relapse prevention planning, and ongoing clinical support. Partial Day Treatment Program is well suited for individuals who are medically stable and have a supportive home environment.
