Starting rehab provides you a chance to participate in things like psychotherapy and medication management to help overcome addiction and learn new coping mechanisms for stress and triggers.
In 2023, over 48 million people needed substance abuse treatment but not all of them received the treatment they needed. One of the biggest barriers to entry is cost. The second is finding the right treatment program.
Many people who struggle with addiction might still have family responsibilities, school obligations, or professional responsibilities that they can’t leave for months at a time so participation in something like comprehensive residential treatment may not be possible.
While we do not offer inpatient rehab, this form of treatment is ideal for those who need round-the-clock supervision and care. If you have a history of severe substance abuse or are a danger to yourself or others, inpatient care may be best.
The next level down, shown to be just as effective in its outcomes, is partial day treatment. This form of care does not require that you reside at the treatment center and instead allows you to go home at the end of each day.
Many people benefit from partial day treatment programs especially those struggling with opioid use disorder or alcohol addiction. This form of treatment includes individual, family, and group therapy as well as access to things like experiential treatment and support groups.
With a partial day treatment program program you will typically participate in several hours of therapy and holistic care over the span of multiple days each week, on a part-time basis that lasts several weeks.
This makes it possible to get the care you need while still participating in other responsibilities like work, caring for a family, or going to school. These part-time programs space out your requirements so that you only travel to our treatment center during specific times of the day like mornings versus afternoons versus evenings.
Another option is a day treatment program. This is a full-time commitment where you come to our treatment center every day of the week and you have several hours of sessions on a regular basis.
This is ideal for people who have a bit more free time, perhaps a two-week vacation from school or sometime off from work. These day treatment programs typically last a couple of weeks which makes it possible to use that type of vacation time, paid time off, or holiday time to find the opportunity to participate in the treatment you need.
In addition to finding the right level of outpatient care you might need to prioritize other services or amenities offered by our treatment center.
One of these is dual diagnosis services. It is very common for people struggling with addiction to also have an underlying mental health disorder. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or other conditions, it’s important that you find a treatment program that provides therapy and possible medication management for both.
If you only treat the addiction, as soon as symptoms of a mental health disorder come back, they can trigger a relapse.
With our dual diagnosis program you can get the help you need for both conditions at the same time, increasing your chances of long-term success in giving you the tools you need to manage symptoms.
Many people throughout the Medford area might want to participate in outpatient treatment but need a safe, supportive living environment.
If you are interested in Medford rehab but don’t have a place you can stay where your attempts to get clean will be supported, we can help connect you to sober living opportunities.
These might be places you live while participating in one of our programs, giving you a stable living environment where you can participate in support group meetings while also attending your treatment. During a stay with a sober living facility you’ll also abide by specific rules that make it easier to stay sober.
Alternatively, you might choose a sober living environment for the additional structure after you leave our programs, as an intermediary step.
When you complete a Medford rehab program, you still have quite a bit left to face. This includes going back to your job, finding a new job, repairing relationships, dealing with legal or financial repercussions from before you started rehab, and all the while applying the coping skills you learned.
It is not uncommon to struggle with feelings of loneliness or isolation, or to feel overwhelmed by challenges ahead.
That is why East Coast Recovery focuses on aftercare programs too.
These are an opportunity to meet with other people who have gone through treatment, participate in monthly activities, communicate successes and failures, and socialize.
Don’t wait to start your treatment. We know how difficult it can be to take the first step and that is why our admissions team is here to help you review not only your circumstances and whether an outpatient program is a good fit for you, but your insurance and whether you can apply your healthcare benefits to the cost of care.
