The Facts: Drug and Alcohol Addiction Middlesex County

Throughout the state, there has been a rising need for treatment for drugs and alcohol. With substance addiction, Middlesex County residents are seeing a strong need for dual-diagnosis support and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

Approximately one in five people throughout Middlesex County reportedly lives with a mental health condition, and 14 percent of them have poor mental health perceptions regularly. Unfortunately, this has been coupled by a statewide report of over 12 percent of residents reporting illicit drug use in the last month, which is almost 4 percent higher than the national average.

Though access to mental health treatment is higher in Middlesex County, there has still been a persistent problem with opioid addiction and alcohol abuse going untreated or poorly treated.

The Need for Drug and Alcohol Rehab Middlesex County

Finding the right Middlesex County drug rehab means knowing what kind of care works best for you. At East Coast Recovery, our medication-assisted treatment (MAT) can help residents with alcohol addiction or addiction to opioids.

With our alcohol rehab, Middlesex County residents can receive ongoing support through our aftercare program, too. This helps connect clients to the services and groups they might need to tackle life’s challenges and setbacks.

With Middlesex County drug rehab, completing the treatment program is the first step but there are hundreds of weekly meetings for groups like SMART Recovery, NA, and AA with District 26 managing meetings across Lowell and Northwest Middlesex county, daily meetings provided with noon options for those who might only be able to get away during a lunch break in the Newton area, morning meetings in Hopkinton and daily resources throughout Cambridge and Framingham.

What to Expect with East Coast Recovery

When you reach out to East Coast Recovery, our admissions team can help you determine which level of care is right for your circumstances. Our most intense level of care is our Day Treatment (PHP), which is designed for people who have already completed a residential program but still need additional support, although that is not a requirement.

Clients meet daily, during which time they participate in beneficial activities that might include:

  • Gender specific yoga groups
  • Breathwork classes
  • DBT skills group
  • Group therapy sessions
  • Intro to 12-step meetings
  • Art therapy
  • Guest speakers

All of our clients participate in both individual and group therapy sessions, each designed to offer slightly different levels of support through personalized attention as well as peer support. Peer support is integral to building a supportive network, one of the main goals of our day treatment programs. The skills that are learned during these sessions can be practiced in real time, not only in the support group meetings but at home in between sessions.

Partial Day Treatment (Partial Day Treatment Program), also known as half-day treatment, offers locals flexible but structured addiction and mental health support. Our partial day treatment can be something a client starts with if they’ve already completed another level, like an inpatient program, or it can be the next level of care for someone who completes their day treatment.

With our partial day programs, clients learn how to develop healthy ways to resist their cravings, meeting for therapy sessions each week, just a few hours per day. With these programs, each of our clients can better practice the skills they learn through 10 to 12 hours of weekly treatment.

Choosing Day or Partial Day Programs

When you reach out to East Coast Recovery, our admissions team can help you start your initial assessment. This evaluation is an important part of determining which level of care is best suited to your needs.

We are happy to review your personal circumstances with you, but in general, there are many circumstances where our full day or partial day program might be of the most benefit.

Who Benefits from Day Treatment?

Our full-day treatment program is designed to serve as either a transition for people who have recently completed a residential inpatient program or as a starting point for people who need more services than a standard outpatient program can provide but don’t necessarily need 24-hour supervision.

This can include:

  • Clients who are still overwhelmed by triggers or cravings and need support
  • Clients who have a supportive home environment but need a structured daily routine
  • Clients who have co-occurring disorders and need medication management
  • Clients who are stable but still need a daily structure to avoid relapse

Who Benefits from Partial Day Treatment?

Our partial day programs are ideal for people who have completed a day program or a residential inpatient program, and people who need ongoing support for their recovery that is a bit more robust than a traditional outpatient program or weekly support group meeting.

This can include:

  • Clients who have a strong support system at home and know that they are able to safely stay on track when they are not at our center
  • Clients who need more independence but still want some accountability after completing a full day or residential inpatient program
  • Clients who have to keep working, going to school, or taking care of their families
  • Clients who only have moderate symptoms and a low risk of an immediate relapse, and are looking for clinical support

It is not a requirement that you participate in any other level of care in order to use our partial day programs. Call our team to start your assessment or discuss these options today.
